TOP Five {FINE DINING-ISH} Lunch Spots - Napa Valley

TOP Five {FINE DINING-ISH} Lunch Spots - Napa Valley

Solbar at Solage

Sol Bar at Solage Resort is a place you can go for a formal dinner, a casual afternoon playing bocce, muching on snacks and a fantastic brunch/breakfast any day of the week! Since Sol Bar is located at a Hotel, the service is probably some of the best hospitality I have ever received! They are treating you like a guest at the hotel, even if your just stopping by for an after work cocktail! The picture above is a day I stopped by after going to Ehlers for a Wine Tasting, we decided to go light since we would have dinner still, so the perfect compliment? Shrimp Lettuce cups, Arancini Sticks (LOVE this idea) and of course, a bottle of one of my favorites Domaine Carneros Brut....To visit Sol Bar on your next trip, please click here to make a reservation

The Restaurant at Auberge Du Soleil

The Restaurant at Auberge, infamous for their famous view and to die for setting in the hillsides of Rutherford, also happens to have some of the best cuisine in the Napa Valley. Regardless if your going for a romantic engagement (I got engaged at Auberge :)), Sunday Brunch, or a casual lunch after Wine tasting, Auberge never dissapoints! On this particular trip we had gone to celebrate "Restaurant Week," which happens once per year and is a time when local restaurants create special deals for residents to come and enjoy...on this trip we enjoyed a three course lunch, to start we had Sunchoke Soup poured over the top of a flash fried Miyagi Oyster, Pan Seared Mahi Mahi with Roasted spring veggies and a dessert filled with chocolate.....A couple things to consider, this is a definite SPECIAL location and not on the inexpensive side, if your going for Brunch they only offer a 5 course option at $70 per person (I know DARN, you'll just have to indulge and TRUST ME, best brunch ever!)....Dinner is also part of a tasting menu which offers 3 courses ($110 per person) or 5 courses ($130 per person - personally just go for this)....They also have a bar area that offers more casual items and ala cart options if you aren't up for the FULL experience! Rutherford Grill

Rutherford Grill is your quintessential all american restaurant. You literally cannot miss this spot on a trip to Napa, it is one of the only restaurants in the small town of Rutherford (population less than 200 people, which is home to some of the best restaurants, Auberge Du Soleil and Rutherford Grill, those lucky residents!!) and people come from near and far to experience their consistent, delicious, american classics...Every time I visit he Rutherford Grill I end up getting the same exact thing, the Sashimi Tuna Salad, complete with about 12 pieces of Grade A Ahi Tuna, a salad of greens, mango, avocado and ponzu dressing to finish it off (I say ponzu, but let's be honest RG doesn't share their recipes, so we may never know whats is their dressings, what we do know is it ain't diet friendly - PSA only go if your NOT on a diet - the temptations will be too much to handle). My fiance, mother, brother etc ALWAYS get the classic French Dip Sandwhich, complete with whatever side you want, wild rice, coleslaw, potatoes concannon, there is truly no bad choice here folks! You may have noticed that amazing shot of their cornbread, like nike says, JUST DO IT! You can thank me later! To visit Rutherford Grill just stop on by, however they do take reservations and like anywhere in Napa, I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation at this spot!!

Mustards Grill

Mustard's Grill also another local and tourist favorite, they as well serve American classics, but with that famous Cindy Pawlcyn's twist we have all come to love and cherish! Their most famous dish, served for lunch and dinner, the Famous Mongolian Pork Chop, served with sweet and sour red cabbage and house made spicy mustard, over a bed of mashed potatoes of course...CANNOT be missed. On this particular trip we were doing lunch, so went for that classic American hamburger with a salad, because I was "trying" to be healthy....total fail if you didn't notice....We also had a new to their menu dish, the DAMN good Chicken Wings, just enough spice and bleu cheese and BBQ to dip in....my cohort that day went with a Beer (we dont always drink wine, just most of the time) and I of course went with Sparkling Wine - this particular glass was a Domaine Carneros Brut Rose..on a side note Mustards is also pretty famous for serving AMAZING flights of wines, whites, sparking and reds, always changing and a STEAL OF A DEAL...seriously people go for the Flight ($23 for three half glasses of amazing sparkling wines or $14 for one glass....mmmm pretty sure variety wins here folks!)....if you don't believe me at what an amazing place this is, go check it out for yourself...you won't be mad, TRUST!

Lucy Restaurant & Bar The at Bardessono

Lucy Restaurant located at the Bardessono Hotel in Yountville, one of the prettiest hotels, surrounded by modern artwork and to die for architecture! Their food is clean, creative and inventive....they, like Auberge and Solage are also located on hotel premises and therefore provide Superb hotel like hospitality, no detail gets passed these folks! On this particular trip I was going for lunch during a rainy afternoon and wanted some delicious soup, which was met with this beautiful Parsnip and Carrot puree adorned with a piece of crispy pancetta and creme fraiche (drool) and then of course needed a little greenery, be aware if you order their Cobb Salad, they individual Roast the piece of chicken and it was probably the juiciest piece of chicken and best deconstructed Cobb Salad EVER....Trust me, just go! They also serve breakfast, lunch and dinner....ala cart items always available!
