{June Trend Spotlight: The Bodysuit & Bodycon Dress}

{June Trend Spotlight: The Bodysuit & Bodycon Dress}

This month I wanted to highlight several attempts at me trying to be “Trendy.” I don’t always follow trends because I try to stay true to my body type. I have never been the person wearing skin tight anything and or mid drift anything. I also don’t do high-waisted skirts or pants, just a little sidebar for you folks! When I discovered Lira Clothing, I was introduced to some trends I wasn’t sure I could rock, but quickly realized with the quality, design and fabric used, I could. One of my favorite items from Lira is my striped bodysuit, it’s lightweight and stretchy and  snaps together just like the good old days of 1995! Ha. What is nice about this particular bodysuit, it’s not skin tight, the material really is so lightweight it feels like second skin. I wish I owned it in every color! It is a bit sheer, so definitely wear a bra-let that’s skin colored or black! The Ella Moss Maxi I am wearing with it I scored at Ross, so I can't link it, but here are a few similar versions HERE and HERE.  My sunnies are from one of my favorite local stores Sister's Boutique and what's great about them, they are $28, meaning you might as well buy multiple pairs for each outfit change! My bag was a gift from my hubby for our Anniversary, it was part of the Rebecca Minkoff Semi Annual Sale (thank you Lynlee Poston whom I heard about it from - my bank account however does not thank you for the extra one I HAD to buy myself lol) and I have linked it HERE!

I definitely felt adventurous with the Bodysuit, but at the same time, it wasn’t THAT much out of my comfort zone. The Striped Midi dress was waaaaay out of my comfort zone lol. I thought, why not rock it, well, I’ll be completely honest with you because I think that’s only fair, I just posted the good shots! The shots where my Mother might think It’s a pregnancy announcement, because my tummy is sticking out, I left those ones out! Ha. The thing is, I know people that look just like me and rock curve hugging dresses all the time without any pause, it’s just never been my prerogative. I will say, this dress is such a gorgeous fabric, so soft, cotton ribbed/jersey material and has the sexiest little slit going up the back. I unfortunately don’t like to showcase my tummy, so I will have to hit the gym a bit more before it’s resurgence, but I am a big fan! Also when it comes to me talking about my bod, I am cool with my size, it’s just an awkward time of life when your 1 year into being married and everyone’s always staring at you like, “Is she chubby or pregnant?” Not yet folks! Anyways, I digress, It’s fun showing you guys my attempts at trends, some I end up keeping (bodysuit) and some I save for another day (I love midi's, but bodycon I am still on the fence about), so I hope you enjoy! Wear your favorite trend in Napa and make sure to use the hashtag #NapaTrends !!

Outfit Details: Similar Midi Dresses HERE and HERE! Shoes HERE and HERE.... These platform sneakers almost cost me my life trying to walk normally, but once I got the hang of it, they are perfect for short girls like me....I can't imagine the 70's and everyone is platform everything....Happy Hump Day Ya'll!
