Where To Find A Healthy Breakfast

Napa is known for their Michelin Guide rated Restaurants and world class wineries. What it is NOT known for is anything related to living a healthy lifestyle, I mean besides that whole "wine is good for you," thing. A lot of people may try and argue with me that they are able to live a 100% healthy lifestyle while living in Napa, and while I am in awe of them, that is just not me and let's be honest, those people are just not enjoying where they live #amiright? When it comes to finding a healthy breakfast I can just grab and go, I frequent Nektar Juice Bar and Wholefoods, A LOT! They both have amazing green juices and smoothies that are under $10 when I am in a pinch. The Oxbow Market also has some great juices, but beware of getting sucked into the vortex that is the Oxbow Market. I have been SO good about making my daily smoothie, probably only missing it 1 - 2 times a week for the last 3 weeks, which I would say is pretty good for someone who just started having the dang thing just 3 weeks ago!

Where To Find A Healthy Lunch

Healthy is a relative term, right? When it comes to lunchtime, I am the WORST. I buy salad stuff almost every week, only to end up using it in my juice or throwing it away (I know how wasteful), but I have gotten better in the last 2 - 3 weeks. I try to only buy stuff I will really use. Additionally I have been much better about cooking more often, taking snacks to work and making healthier choices overall. For instance if I am to go out to lunch vs packing it, I will stop by La Taquiza for a "Fitness Bowl," which contains: Grilled White Fish, Roasted Peppers/Onions, Black Beans, Cabbage, Salsa and Avocado for just $12! The shot above is of another favorite: Ceviche $10 ! Some of my other favorite lunch places for a light healthy lunch: Genova's Deli, Small World Cafe, Heritage Eats......calling these places healthy may be a bit of a stretch depending on who you ask, but for me I am able to get something relatively light and healthy and CHEAP, which in Napa, is PRICELESS!

So originally when I wrote this post last week it was going to be my post for week 3....well life happened and it's now a combined post for weeks 3 and 4, probably the hardest weeks, staying committed and REALLY changing for the better is the DEFINITION of week 3 and 4. Weight doesn't change over night so these pictures will probably show a very slight difference from the bottom which is week 3 and the top which is week 4....I feel like I should lead with week 4 because even though the physical change isn't huge (in your eyes), the postural change is EPIC.....my arms are more aligned with my legs vs hanging forward, my back has been feeling stronger every day and as you can see my shoulders are pulled back and tummy is in without having to suck in! Sometimes you have to look at the week and realize you can only do so much in one week, you still gotta live, work and make people happy around you.

The major change I will leave you with, before this journey with Bare Health I wasn't happy with ME ! Now I am happy with me and proud of my efforts, in turn I love everyone around me more (especially my poor hubby who has to deal with me and loves me even when I don't love me) and I feel like my physical journey is back on track to a better more lasting place. I cannot wait to see what week 5 and 6 bring me, but I will tell you what, I will be continuing my training with Tessa and Matt, because they are the change I NEED in my life! If you have been feeling like me at all whatsoever, then maybe they are the change you need to! Mind, Body, Spirit....not just flat abs, but definitely that too ;)
