Carmel CA: Carmel Valley Ranch Anniversary Trip

Carmel CA: Carmel Valley Ranch Anniversary Trip

Two years ago my husband and I celebrated our engagement with an impromptu trip to Carmel Valley Ranch. It has since become our favorite home away from home. The same can certainly be said for the droves of bay area folks that make the trek to CVR every other weekend during the summertime – wish we could afford it, because we would too!

Carmel Valley Ranch is appointed on a 500 acre “playground” about eight miles off of Highway 101, just fifteen minutes from Carmel by The Sea and the famous 17-mile drive that takes you right by Pebble Beach Golf Course! CVR offers a plethora of amenities, starting with their 18-hole golf course ($95 – $190 per round), multiple restaurants (Valley Kitchen, Clubhouse and River Ranch Café), a stunning pool/hot tub area, state of the art gym, a wonderful spa and enough hiking and biking trails to help you not worry about the fireside complimentary s’more’s they offer each night!

This bottle is sold by Rarecat Wines in the Napa Valley but it is produced in france in the appellation of Cremant De Bordeaux and only retails for only $19.99...it's no longer on their site, but a simple email can probably solve all your problems - it is the perfect summer wine, another favorite from them is their Rose of Grenache which I recently featured on my blog HERE....their wine club is one of the only clubs I belong to besides Clif Family!

They offer a few different room options: Studio Suites are a single bedroom with separate bathrooms including a Jacuzzi tub, fireplace and private balcony. One - Four Bedroom Suites offer a living room (queen size pull out beds in each living room) and separate bedroom with a king size bed, Jacuzzi tub, fireplace and private balcony. We have been very fortunate to stay in a one-bedroom suite each time we have visited, they are magical! If you are anything like me and my husband, you wake up early and your man sleeps in! Since they offer the separate living space, I can comfortable get up and enjoy some reading or TV, while my hubby snoozes! The best part of CVR is the privacy of each room and how they have thoughtfully considered every angle of the rooms and which direction they face, so you are not starting into anyone else’s room or having to worry about sitting on your deck in your robe and someone staring at you!

We always make it a point to enjoy room service, they serve the same options from Valley Kitchen and the food is absolutely delicious! On this particular trip we had some extra time during the day before golf, so we went on a hike on the horseshoe trail, a little over 2 miles (the maximum amount of hiking my poor hubby could sustain ;)), they have longer trails available and the views from each are just stunning.

A peek into Valley Kitchen the main restaurant on property. The patio is probably the best spot to sit on a beautiful day overlooking the pool and golf course!

In addition to all of the amazing benefits they offer, you can also bring your furry friends for a $150 flat rate. They provide dog beds, food bowls and a special dog friendly room service menu! We brought along Carmelita and she had the absolute best time! If you are looking for a place to celebrate your next anniversary, birthday, special event, corporate event or just get away with friends or your spouse, definitely add Carmel Valley Ranch to your list. You will thank me later!!
