Cliff Lede Vineyards opened their doors in 2002, tucked away on Yountville Crossroad, one of the only wineries along a stretch of road connecting the Silverado Trail and the city of Yountville/Hwy 29 ( the two roads ya'll drive around and taste wine on :))..I had never been to Cliff Lede for an official Tour and Tasting and was very excited to receive a call from my friend Kate asking if I wanted to join her! I didn't realize we would be personally toured around by their General Manager and Vice President Remi Cohen (I'm spoiled, I know!). Remi has a background in Viticulture, having spent her time before Cliff Lede mostly working on the Vineyard side for Saintsbury, Merryvale and then starting her own company Vines to Wines (vineyard management) which introduced her to famed Viticulturist David Abreu who finally made the connection from her to Cliff Lede. Just a few short years later and Remi has worked her way up to Vice President and General Manager of Cliff Lede in the Stags Leap District and FEL Wines from Anderson Valley, ummm can you say ultimate #girlboss and #makingmeproudofmyspecies #goremi, okay and I digress from my fangirl state, but seriously she's giving me major life goals over here!

Cliff Lede ran a VERY successful construction company which afforded him the ability to start his amazing Winery in the Stags Leap District and a little hotel perched high upon the hill overlooking Cliff Lede, The Poetry Inn, is also part of the fold! One thing I have always known about CL, they have AMAZING wines and some of my personal favorites, Sauvignon Blanc ($25 retail BUY here!), High Fidelity ($80 per bottle retail, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Franc...just poured at the White House State Dinner ! BUY Here!)

Cliff Lede's focus like any great Napa Valley Winery is to make the very best wine they can, they focus primarily on the production of Cabernet Sauvignon from Stags Leap and beautiful Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley, specifically Savoy Vineyard which is one of my all time favorite Vineyard Designated Pinot Noirs from Anderson Valley!

There is a very present theme throughout the Cliff Lede property, one filled with a rich culture surrounding a love of the arts. Unique sculptures can be found, like the HEARTS I am standing in front of below, the bunnies a few shots down and many different pieces of art adorn the walls, even in the TANK ROOM - can you say prettiest tank room around? Oh and I must mention how impressed I was with their safety regimes in the cellar and caves we were toured through, their staff was very thorough and cautious while we walked around and we even got to sample their 2015 Sauvignon Blanc that was almost finished cold stabilizing before bottling - YUM! Beyond all of the beautiful sculptures and artwork, the ever present theme is the owners love of music! Wines are named after different musical themes and as you'll see below their is a backstage area dedicated solely to art and music lovers, oh and wine!! :)

On any given day guests are invited to walk in without an appointment to visit the Tasting Bar at Cliff Lede, open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ($30 per person for a flight), they also offer a by appointment experience via their Veranda Table Tastings ($40 per person for a flight) and as well they have options for Large groups and private experiences for their Wine Club Members. My favorite experience offered at Cliff Lede is the "Backstage Reserve Lounge," Tasting ($50 per person for a flight)  that currently has featured art from Jerry Garcia of the Grateful dead, signed guitars and rock music playing the entire time. The art is rotated on a regular basis to feature other famous musicians and artists. Wineries are a true reflection of their owner and their wines a true reflection of the terrior....Cliff Lede has perfected this one of a kind experience for wine and music fans, without even trying, he is just being the cool guy that he is and at the same time, hiring amazing people to run and operate all that he has built. Good Job Cliff....I hope to meet you one day, you are it!
