Miner Family Winery + Bottlerock Wine Tasting Fashion

Miner Family Winery + Bottlerock Wine Tasting Fashion

Recently, I was welcomed to fully experience Miner Family Winery in Oakville. THANK GOD and thank you, Lisa, the most fabulous Marketing Director, for extending that invite! My friend and photographer, Dan'yell, and I made our way on a sunny Sunday afternoon up the Silverado Trail and were greeted with warm smiles and a glass of delicious 2015 Miner Family Sauvignon Blanc ($20 per bottle).

Miner Family Winery are huge supporters of our local music festival, BottleRock, so when tasked with the idea of showcasing what "Napa Casual," fashion means to me, I figured why not tie in the perfect combination: outfits that can serve two or maybe even three purposes?

During recent trips to Palm Springs (home of Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals), I was so inspired by all the people surrounding me: crop tops, long flowing skirts, prints galore and too many lace-up sandals to count! We had to stop at the Palm Desert outlets, where I found the most beautiful dress at the Joie outlet. Lucky me - it was on MAJOR sale, too! This dress is a perfect combination of casual yet dressy enough for work, or a great piece to wear for a evening at your local music festival!

I've been to BottleRock every year and it never fails that I end up arriving around 5-6pm in my cute, hot weather festival outfit (typically no sleeves nor long pants/leggings) and it becomes the worst idea ever when the sun goes down and here's why. If you haven't been to Napa, be wary that our climate of hot days and cool nights, while perfect for grape growing, shows no mercy to scantily dressed festival goers!

I decided to style this ensemble with some bohemian accessories to make it feel more casual for a simple day of wine tasting, as well as appropriately boho for an evening at BottleRock! Some lace-up brown gladiator sandals, a matching floppy hat and a puppy, and your outfit is complete! If you don't have a puppy, don't worry... accessories are a range and a bag could be swapped for puppy and leash :)

The MUST HAVE to remember when packing for Napa is that the best style is whatever YOU feel most comfortable in. Make sure you bring flats, wedges, sandals, or anything comfortable for the current weather situation (do check the forecast). Most wineries' terrain could be hard to navigate in stilettos, so please take my warning seriously. Unless you plan on just strutting around Yountville or St. Helena, then wear whatever shoes you want!

This dress was perfect for a day spent at Miner Family Winery and evening at BottleRock, as Miner boasts the most beautiful caves. This dress came equipped with long sleeves, making it automatically perfect for any winery with a cave cellar! No sweater needed, but always remember to bring light layers if you ARE going sleeveless...caves are naturally a consistent 55-60F degrees to optimally store wine out of light and heat :)

If you are planning to join us for BottleRock this year, start your itinerary now and make sure Miner Family Winery is on that list! If you don't plan to leave the festival gates, don't worry because Miner is a huge sponsor and you can taste most of their delectable wines on site! Have a great time and dress appropriately!

Thanks,

Mallory
