Living in the Wine Country comes with certain perks and so does working in the wine industry. As a person who lives here, you have access to some of the best wines, food, experiences etc. As a person working here in WINE, you get access to REAL hidden gems and quite honestly, the places that most tourist get to visit because they are paying top dollar to do so!

My latest adventure took me to the hills of St. Helena in the middle of a ranch surrounded by goats, chickens, vineyards and Chef/Owner of the property waiting to create an EPIC meal for myself and other lucky professionals! Handwritten Wines are a brand produced by Winemaker Rob Lloyd and the Good Life Wine Collective Group - Jessup Cellars, Humanitas and Handwritten, make up the portfolio locally owned and operated by a group of Doctors from the Valley! I actually went to high school with the family that originally owned the Jessup brand, which was then sold to the group of doctors who's children I also went to school with.....yeah Napa is SMALL! In a good way though! All my friends own wineries, I guess that ain't so bad? HA

On this special occasion we were treated to a plethora of delicious wines by Handwritten: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon (they are most know for their multiple single AVA cabernet sauvignon - my personal fav the Coombsville and the Carneros!) and a Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc as well! The food was such a treat and I must add very accommodating to people with food allergies and specific dietary requests! We started with a gorgeous Cheese/Charcuterie board, fresh honey from their honeybee's right outside the farmhouse and goat cheese from the adorable goats "Clementine," "Marshmallow," and "Maple Syrup." The lunch is a 4 course affair and that does NOT include the delicious cheese/charcuterie! We started with a Potato Leek Puree, aged balsamic (no dairy or gluten!), then a butter lettuce salad w/ clementines, avocado, persimmon and a avocado vinaigrette, the main course was pan seared salmon, wild rice risotto, green beans with fennel and parsley. THEN we ended with Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc and a blueberry bread pudding - omg SO delicious and WELL WORTH the price...you won't need to eat dinner if your heading their for lunch and if you do a DINNER - that is actually a FIVE course affair and starts with 3 passed appetizers! The prices below include all the yummy wines you will get to taste, make sure you plan to take some home with you, as this experience is ALL about the wines!

If your planning a trip to the Napa Valley and wanted to include a extra special winery experience, make sure to include Handwritten Wines Farmhouse Tasting ($65 pp), Lunch ($175 pp) and or Dinner ($200 pp) on your itinerary! One thing to keep in mind if your planning to book, you must have a chauffeur or private/designated driver, that way they don't have to worry about you really enjoying the wines and getting down the mountain safely!
