Winery Spotlight: Davis Estates Next Level Winery Experience
As a Wine Industry Professional, I am granted access to some very special properties, experiences and of course, WINE!! On this occasion I was invited to come and experience Davis Estates new property and their gorgeous wines! Upon arrival you will see that no money was spared to create the most quintessential Napa Valley Winery experience! We were greeted with a warm welcome and chilled glass of Viognier. They offer tours of their brand new caves, barn and winemaking facility. They have seating areas with couches that are suspended from the ceiling, soon to be your favorite anti gravity way to taste wine and if that isn't enough, they have a room that only certain members can enter via a palm scanner, like the CIA (not talking about the culinary institute of america) or FBI headquarters!
We were thrilled to get a view of everything they had to offer, including a delicious Terrace Food and Wine Pairing (normally $75 per person - disclaimer: I am treated to these experiences as a part of my job within the wine industry, while this experience is complimentary, all opinions are my own!). The wines and bites were perfectly paired and just the right portion, that with the wine, I didn't need a full lunch following the experience. Our first bite was a ceviche of shrimp/corn/lime/cilantro with homemade tortilla chips paired with the Reserve Sauvignon Blanc ($35 per bottle), the second pairing was a take on mini BLT's, shown below, paired with their Carneros Pinot Noir (a personal favorite and close to my heart, I am a fifth generation Carneros Napan - so drinking Pinot Noir ($54 per bottle) from Carneros feels right - this one was MORE than right, it was fantastic!!), our third pairing was a liver pate on crostini, paired with their Cabernet Franc ($66 per bottle) and the final pairing, their Zephyr Red Blend ($95 per bottle, they call it Zephyr because the blend changes every vintage) paired with a bite of sliced Kobe Beef, Homemade Pesto and Zucchini (for me it was the perfect pairing, because it was simple and reflective of a dinner I may make on my own), all in all, they were absolutely lovely!! They have multiple experiences they offer ranging from $60 and up, so I encourage you to check out their website HERE!
Beyond all of the food and wine served, the incredible architecture and fancy palm scanner Phase Five room, the BEST part of the experience was our Host, Dale! He was informative, kind, patient (I took a thousand photos) and fun! Truly one of the most important aspects to any experience in wine country is your host. I have talked about it before, but I run a networking group called BANG - By Appointment Network Group, which focuses on referring guests to each other within our network! Davis Estates is a part of our network and I cannot wait to send some amazing guests their way, make sure to ask for Dale or Caitlin when you visit!! Now the really important potion, where did I find my outfit? This dress I found at Sister's Boutique in Yountville, it is from the brand Patrons of Peace, they are only carried by a few stores locally. I saw it on the rack and thought it was gorgeous, it wasn't until I put it on that I truly fell in love. First off it is a midi length, which is PERFECT for frolicking through vineyards (you won't risk getting the bottom all dirty!), it has multiple panel/slits to give way to some great boomerang moments, the fit is so comfortable with the ruching and lightweight fabric and the best part is the OTS style, so flattering and simple! I was running a bit late, so did my statement side braid and hat hairstyle, my hat is from the brand TART and my sandals from Target Dolce Vita line that came out last year! My sunnies and earrings are both from Sister's Boutique ($28 for sunnies and earrings are from local designer Sherry Flammer).
Make sure to pop into Sister's to check out all their new summer stuff and tell them VINELIVING sent you!
